Republican Anthony Constantino, the CEO of sticker manufacturer Sticker Mule, has won the open House seat in New York's 21st District, according to Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ). The race was called Wednesday afternoon with more than 95 percent of the vote counted, showing Constantino with just under 51 percent.

Constantino, who had the backing of former President Trump, defeated Democrat Blake Gendebien and independent Christopher Schmidt in the contest to replace Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), who vacated the seat to run for governor. The district, which covers a large swath of upstate New York, has been a Republican stronghold, and DDHQ projected a GOP hold.

Poll: 73% of Young Voters Backed Democrats in Midterm Landslide
A new SSRS poll finds 73% of young voters backed Democratic House candidates in the 2026 midterms, helping the party win both chambers.

During the campaign, Constantino leaned heavily on his business background, touting his success as the founder of Sticker Mule, which is headquartered in Amsterdam, New York, and operates manufacturing facilities in the state, as well as in South Carolina and Italy. He also highlighted his amateur boxing career, including a victory in his debut match in Coacalco, Mexico, just north of Mexico City.

His policy platform centered on cutting government waste, lowering utility costs, securing the northern border, and expanding the Republican Party's influence in New York, according to his campaign website. He positioned himself as a political outsider who could bring a businessman's approach to Washington.

Stefanik, who served six terms and rose to become the fourth-ranking Republican in the House, dropped her reelection bid to run for governor. She later stunned the political world in December by ending her gubernatorial campaign, leaving the seat open and triggering a competitive primary and general election.

Constantino's victory adds to a series of Republican wins in special elections and open seats this cycle, as the party looks to maintain its narrow majority in the House. The result also underscores the continued strength of Trump's endorsement in GOP primaries and general elections.

Elsewhere, other races have seen similar outcomes, with Garrett winning Tennessee's 6th District and Crowley making history in Wisconsin. The GOP's performance in these contests will be closely watched as they head into the midterm elections.

Constantino is expected to be sworn in later this year, completing Stefanik's term and beginning what could be a long career in Congress if he chooses to seek a full term in 2026.
